I for one welcome our new mega-evolved overlords.
I think it would be really hard to balance the stats and abilities and stuff. There are a shitload of completely new Pokemon, as the Megas would propably have different checks and counters and stuff. Limiting this shit to one per team would be kind of an solution, but I am not quite sure about that. The 3DS offers the ability to patch games, doesn't it? So this might be a cure, if they discover that something is really OP. I would really hate the introducion of new Tier lists, just for those Digimon ripoffs :D
The way I see it, Megalutions give pokemon more options on how they are used and can allow some weaker ones to see more use with the boosted stats and alternate abilities. Besides, I'll bet some will get absolutely useless abilities when they Megavolve. As for better pokemon, the changes in stats and abilities could allow them to be used in a different way. Have a special attack based Lucario and your opponent switches in a special wall like (Mega)Blissey? Megavolve to boost his attack and take her out with Close Combat.
Also... MegaTangrowth. <insert tentacle jokes here>
It's just occurred to me - MegaDunsparce! Hell yeah!
Yeah, but again, it would make some of them completely useless, because they got replaced by better Megas, or because there are to many Mega counters. But we will see, I do not want to overpredict things, so I am seeing towards the release :)
can't wait for megaluvdisc
You guys need to realize now that each pokemon has a specific stone that's especially for them... And holy shit that's a lot of items, so maybe every pokemon comment was implied... It's expressly stated in the video but I doubt they could give a megalution to every fucking pokemon... That's ludicrous seeing as each pokemon needs a specific mega stone to trigger them...
Anyways, back to what I was saying. In order for the megalution to even occur, the pokemon has to be HOLDING the Mega Stone. Meaning any other hold items strategies are out the window. It seems to be a mostly offensive option and could easily be screwed with with things like Switcharoo and Knock Off. Regardless, it's been stated that only one pokemon per team per battle can become a megalution. When the battle is over, they revert back. So you could have a whole team holding Mega Stones but only one of them will be able to transform within that one battle.
Mega Evolution for a Magikarp...
Yeah no. Not happening :P
MegaBlastoise > Charizard > Venusaur
But your facts are wrong
I agree with this so therefore it is fact.
I feel like the only person who likes MegaVenusaur.....
Don't worry, buddy. He'll always be my #2.
Well see there we go. I'm glad everyone agrees!
B-but I didn't...
any "facts" with charizard over anything positively are false
Hey now. I certainly like MegaVenusaur, I just don't put him above a design like MegaBlastoise. Personally, I'd put MegaAbsol in the number one spot for most drastically awesome Megalution shown so far followed closely by Blaziken and Blastoise. But that's just me.
I'm just hoping Mega Gengar is a thing.
Any Mega Ghost type god damn it
Anyways, I got in with Emerald, and stuck there. Actually, I think it got stolen...
I can tell you this, MegaGardevoir is gonna make the internet even more nuts with her new design once it's revealed.
My personal favorites are MegaMawile & MegaBlastoise.
I hope we get some good Megalutions, at least.
It's kinda unlikely, because that'd mean we'd need a Mega Stone for EACH POKEMON IN THE GAME.
Though maybe that ring has something to do with it
So cannot wait for MegaLilligant and MegaTorkoal.
Also, MegaElectrode should look like a masterball.
Guess we'll have to see.
It's only 40 something days until X & Y!
Possible Mega Evolutions?
Screw the megalution for Farfetch'd! He needs an Evolution!
His mega evolution should have him dual wielding leeks. That would be so badass.
Megaluvdisk for Broken Tier. :p
Wouldn't MegaLuvdisc basically be Alomamola
I hope a decent amount of the cutesy Normal types introduced over the generations get reclassed to Fairy type. I want a Fairy princess Granbull on my team. Better yet a Fairy-princess MegaGranbull.
I never know I wanted this until now
Fairy is going to need all the firepower it can to combat the new threats of the Megadragons. Mega Salamence, Mega Dragonite, MegaGarchomp... Somehow, I hope they don't get megalutions. That would destroy the very fabric of pokemon battling...
Ehh, I've always felt dragons were way overrated. Sure, they have the most psuedos, but they're still easily countered with a quick blizzard or two.
And then they switch out with a pokemon more suitable to blizzard and fuck your shit up and then switch back and continue.
I think the only pseudo legend line I ever gave a damn about was the Metagross line. I would have cared about Dratini and Dragonair if they didn't evolve into that ugly as sin Barney reject known as Dragonite.
After looking at Lilligant, I am seriously hoping it gets Fairy-fied. Just imagine the raw, unadulterated, dream ending power of a Lilligant with added Fairy type attacks!
I love Pokemon. I've played all the main series games, as well as a few spin offs. For reference, in my opinion best generations are:
4.Gen 5(But damn does BW2 make me want to put this higher)
I'll definitely be getting Pokemon Y on launch, and I'm sure it'll be just as good as the rest. I just really hope they continue some of the amazing trends they started in BW2, like repels asking you to reuse when they finished, UNIQUE AS HELL gym designs and music, tons of pokemon from every gen to choose from in the main game, and challenge mode. But I don't want any spoilers so I'll probably dissapear from this thread after this.
Currently I'm playing through Pokemon White 2(Played Black 2 my first time) emulated on Challenge mode and loving the difficulty. Elesa was hard enough on normal, but on challenge mode she's just evil.
