Are there different values per bar of meter that you need to get another bar? Because I just found out that it takes more meter to get the first bar than it does to get the second.

Same combo, same situation, if you have no meter it builds less than a bar, if you already have a bar (whether 2, 3, or 4) it builds a full bar.

    Are you even seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerious

    E: This is actually the opposite of what "should" happen;
I figure it's cus the whiffmeter counts towards meterscaling?

Whiffing normals on nothing gains meter. Probably scales because of that.

Ah okay, I think I grok what's happening.

When you're under 1 bar you give yourself kara-meter for just executing normals (scaled by damage).
This only happens at the beginning of every attack.

When you are over 100% meter your opponent adjusts your metergain per hit because they know you didn't give yourself the kara-meter.
This happens on every hit, so multihit attacks or attacks that still give kara-meter (specials give very little but they give it all the time) have extra meter added per hit.

It ain't an easy thing to fix, though.

Now every time I play a match and do a combo while having not-at-least-one-bar and end with just under enough for the super I need to kill, I'll be wondering whether or not I should have gotten the kill (Edit: it's happened twice since I found the bug). I hope it can be fixed.

Didja read what I wrote? It's the other way around, the meter you get ABOVE one bar is too much and the fix would be to fix that, if there ever is a fix.

So no, you should not have gotten the kill. I hope that makes you feel better. (^.^)

Oh. Yeah, I guess I do feel better about that then. Now kills I get above a bar are like bonuses.

And I didn't understand what you wrote cause I was assuming that the bug was the meter gain under a bar. I'm bad at grokking things (I never heard grok before, that's a cool word).

noooo, don't be mad at me saaage.

And maybe I'm wrong, with my poor grok-aptitude and whatnot, but it sounds like other characters with a bunch of multi hit moves like Filia and Valentine and Squigly and pretty much everybody else will get affected by this nerf, probably worse than Bella, if Mike can fix it.

Am I correct in understanding that you're saying the problem comes from specials and multi-hit moves, and this problem occurs only over a bar, and that the meter discrepancy comes in from you getting too much meter when you're over a bar?

Cause if so, I don't know what's going on.

You get less above one bar for single hits because the meter is scaled by 1 extra damage scaling, since the kara-meter under 1 bar is not scaled by the following hit.
But you get more for multi hits, because they give you fake kara-meter over one bar.
So it kinda evens out and is very hard to fix either way. :^P

Does this mean that characters like Filia are getting more meter than they're supposed to get because they're doing these multi hit attacks, but characters with mostly single hit attacks like Cerebella or Parasoul are just evening out?

Which characters are most affected aside, what would need to be done to fix it? Wondering what makes this very-hard/10 to fix.

In theory, Painwheel should be getting a ton more meter than she's supposed to since she does a ton of multi-hit moves. I find this hilarious because of all the Complainwheels bitching about meter gain.

Oh wow, that'd be funny. I'd like to see some other people coming in here with some videos showcasing their character to see what kind of effect it actually has. So just some bnb's like the first vid? No one can really avoid using single hit normals, so it's hard to minimize the negative drawback of using single moves at almost any time, but multi hit moves and specials should of course be used whenever possible.

Does this affect moves that have multiple hits per each additional press of that button (like Big Band's s.MK, or Double's s.MK), or just moves that have multiple hits per one press of the button (Big Band's j.LK)? Maybe there's still time to see how much we can abuse this.

I think it's only moves that hit more than once for one button press. But I kinda don't really know. And as far as it sounds like, this is going to stay. Mike has said it's difficult to fix twice (and once was before I discovered single hits gain less, so I don't know if it's more difficult now), and also that it kinda sorta evens out. Kinda.

But yeah. Again, anyone who wants to try and better document this, maybe seeing just how much bonus meter some characters are getting, that'd be great.
