I'm the artist ChaiBee!
Thought I'd make an account because I'm crazy about skullgirls. A fellow Eliza cosplayer QuestionKid is super cool, I met her online and then at Anime Expo. Please check out her cosplays!
How I got into Skullgirls:
I was rolling around through youtube when I came across a gameplay for peacock's story mode. Curious due to the strange art, I clicked on the thumbnail. I fell in love, the art, animation, strange stories, I filed through many playthroughs of the characters.
Not too long after, I sort of forgot about skullgirls, and didn't think much of it.
A year and a half later, I saw concept art and animation frames floating around of an egyptian character with a large staff.
Being a lover of the style, I did some research and saw she was a new character for Skullgirls! I watched new art get uploaded and awaited her release.
School got very busy for me, and I forgot about Eliza. I had never actually got the chance to play Skullgirls, I didn't have a console.
But the summer of 2015, I finally got to play Skullgirls for the first time, 2nd Encore, the full game. I beat Eliza's story and was more than satisfied.
After falling in love with the characters over and over again, and heavy thought as to who was my favorite, I decided to dedicate my newbie cosplay skills to one of the girls. Naturally, I chose Eliza.
It was a lot of thought and consideration, but everything about making the costume and wearing the costume just felt so right.
The passion behind Skullgirls from the creators and fans, I really felt it. I felt it more than ever when I went to Anime Expo in the full get up. I've networked and met so many people because of it.
It's cheesy, I know, but I owe a lot of my happiness to Skullgirls. Art and creativity is concentrated in my blood, and to just get a taste of connecting with those who had a major part in making what it is- was pretty damn awesome.
