SSJ startup

    Why is it that SSJ has 2 frames of "true" startup when the in-game frame data counts it as 8?

    I saw that in training I can set Big Band to reversal SSJ and anything -3 or below I get punished.

    has to do with something referred to as "hitstop". I'm probably going to explain this poorly but most grounded supers have hitstop which "freezes" the opponent for a certain amount of frames. I think most of ssj's startup takes place in hitstop which makes it such a fast super. However hitstop acts different depending on whether or not you have undizzy or drama, as that allows opponents to block if they weren't doing anything already during hitstop.

    I didn't know hitstop covered multiple frames of startup but I think I get the whole hitstop mechanic now. Thanks for clearing that up.
