Things seem to be going to shit over on YouTube. Tons of gaming channels are getting hit with copyright problems due to Google's robotic Content ID system, which seems to be going off at the slightest possibility of there being copyrighted material on a video. The wave seems to be affecting any non-corporate channel with a large enough following: TobyGames, Angry Joe, Rooster Teeth, hell, even Maximilian is getting hit for his Capcom-authorized Assist Me videos! Here's an attempt at an explanation for the madness by TotalBiscuit:

I was just starting to start making more, "high-quality," Skullgirls stuff when this started happening. Now I don't even know if it's worth the time, what with all these claims being tossed about.

don't know how much it affects games with an "open" and "modern" development/pr team. Doubt Autumn or Lab Zero would make any claims on SG video (Konami is about to lose any right to do anything at all related to the game, and even before they had no authority to do copyright claims).

The same goes for most indie developers and Double helix. KI videos are the best advertisement the game could ever receive!

Double Helix might not care, but what about Microsoft?

As someone who's witnessed M$ be an evil empire and a salvation for various things around the world I wouldn't worry too much about them flagging youtube videos of KI. The company doesn't often micromanage things that would seem tedious or that it can't deal with in a blanket format. Flagging KI stuff as Copyright would seem counter intuitive seeing as they have spent zero money on marketing and it's pretty much all fan done at this point. What little I have seen hasn't been anywhere near official.

MS might be sketchy with some stuff but unless they are losing money I severely doubt they will care.

Looks like this is the perfect occasion to websites like Twitch to grow.
